Patsy’s O’Sullivan

Director & Proprietor

Patsy’s vocation to nursing came from a summer position as a Care Assistant while working at St. Finbars Hospital. She then took up a position as a Care Assistant in a geriatric ward and it was here that she realised that nursing was the career for her.
Patsy trained in the Bons Secour Hospital and worked as a Staff Nurse in theatre and in the gynaecological ward. Following this Patsy got married to David (also a director of Bishopscourt Residential Care) and with the arrival of her children decided to work fewer hours so she worked part time on day and night duties for a nursing home.
Patsy decided it was time to use what she had learnt while nursing the elderly and open Bishopscourt Residential Care with her sister in law Catherine O’Connor. A perfect match as they complimented each other’s working ethos and experience, Patsy in nursing, Catherine in administration and so developed the first class nursing home that is Bishopscourt today.
Patsy is quoted as saying “I’ve never looked back since opening Bishopscourt with Catherine as I enjoy working with the elderly and get massive job satisfaction every day. It’s not everyone can say that they truly love their job”
